Bathroom Pod Install Commences at Plymouth
The installation of 60 Bathroom Pods will commence this week at the student accommodation scheme, Crescent Point, in Plymouth.
The state of the art accommodation which is being built by Pickstock Construction utilising Elements Europe’s modular solutions is on schedule to open in time for the September intake of students.
Bathroom Pods will be installed into Block B which is a ten storey building, using a cantideck system. This method is being utilised due to the buildings concrete frame.
“Tower B is being built traditionally by our contractor company Pickstock Construction, with the inclusion of 60 Bathroom Pods” Commented Kate Pickstock Senior Development Surveyor.
The Bathroom Pod install marks the completion of the installation of Room Modules and Kitchen Pods into the taller of the two blocks.
Pickstock Construction will now commence the cladding of Block A which will comprise of Plymouth limestone on the lower ground and ground floor, with the remainder of the building having rain screen and zinc cladding. A feature of the building will be its curtained walling which is due to start being installed in just six weeks.
“All 26 studio apartments, 263 en-suite bedrooms and 59 Kitchen Pods have been installed into tower Block A on schedule” commented Kate Pickstock Senior Development Surveyor.
The student rooms have been designed by The Pickstock Group and offer a contemporary design with ample space for studying and sleeping.
