Room Pods for the University of Chester
A brand new student accommodation scheme for the University of Chester has been given the go ahead.
Elements Europe has been appointed by the main contractor Morgan Sindall, to manufacture and deliver 224 room pods for a student accommodation project in Chester. The University of Chester has over 15,000 students from both the UK and overseas.
This project will see room pods be installed into 3 blocks of student accommodation buildings for students studying at the University. These 3 buildings will have interconnecting floors and be built standing off the ground using innovative modular solutions.
All room pods will be studio rooms each with en-suite and kitchenette facilities, providing a high quality living and study area for students, using contemporary design specifications. The room pods will include bedrooms, kitchenettes, cleaning rooms, stairwells and associated roofing and corridor cassettes.
Elements Europe Kevin Arthur comments “modular construction is suited to student accommodation schemes due to the high quality and fast nature of the product delivery and installation. These studio rooms will be designed internally according to the specification proposed by the University of Chester. We take pride in ensuring our work at Elements Europe is always completed to international standards and poses minimal environmental impact.”
Manufacture for this modular student housing scheme will commence in November 2012 at the company’s facility in Shropshire. Installation will start in January 2013 and the site will be ready to open in time for the 2013 academic year.
As well as design and manufacture, Elements Europe provide a complete delivery, installation and commissioning service to support the entire build process.
