Plymouth Student Scheme Update
Pickstock Construction is a building contractor who specialise in modular buildings.
Its site in Plymouth is progressing well as it prepares for the installation of Elements Europe’s Room Modules in January.
The transfer slab is now in place and the scaffolding is being erected so that the install team can safely assist in guiding the modules into place.
A slip form machine, which has been assembling the lift and stair cores at a rate of three metres per day, will complete the larger of the two tower blocks next week.
The team is working on a very space constrained site and is therefore using their experience to ensure that the management of teams, deliveries and all works is being done in the most efficient manner to ensure a safe and productive site.
The development which will provide 349 student rooms will be open in time for next September’s intake of students.
Pickstock Construction will build the rooms to the smaller of the two tower blocks traditionally utilising Bathroom Pods from Elements Europe, showing their versatility of construction methods.
