Llangollen Print Works Presses On
Work carries on apace at JR Pickstock Ltd’s site in Llangollen, developing Dobson and Crowther Ltd’s new purpose-built print works.
Above ground work is well underway now that overhead power cables have been diverted away from the site. The footprint of the building has now been stoned and foundation and drainage works are progressing well. Steel erectors will be finished on site this week, one week ahead of their programme for installing the supporting steel beams that form the frame of the building. The roof and wall cladding installation will start next week.
The access in and around the site has been prepared and stone has been set in anticipation of the road’s surface being laid following completion of the drainage system.
Site Manager Sam Diamond said, “We are really pleased with the progress that has been made on-site. Once the steel frames are complete we can then work towards an expedited programme to complete the building’s shell.”
The new site facilitates Dobson and Crowther Ltd’s relocation from their old site and provides opportunities for their business to develop further. Their old site is being redeveloped for a new Sainsbury’s supermarket, which will serve the local community. JR Pickstock Ltd will start work on this second phase of the project once Dobson and Crowther relocate to their new facility. When complete, the print works will span 4,180sq.m (45,000sq.ft) of factory and two floors of office space.
