Pickstock Homes Secures Planning for 600 New Homes

Pickstock Homes has secured outline planning permission for 600 new homes to be built on the outskirts of Oswestry, Shropshire. The scheme will deliver a Sustainable Urban Extension, one of only three in Shropshire, on a 60-acre site, with a prominent frontage onto the A5 and the A483.

The detailed designs for the development will follow the garden village concept to provide a place where residents can work, raise families, travel easily and enjoy green spaces. A series of linked green spaces are a key part of the scheme master plan which will establish an attractive landscaped setting for the traditional range of family homes, which will be built in up to six phases. High quality 2, 3 and 4 bedroomed houses have been specified for the development to meet the demands of the local market place.

A new roundabout on the Shrewsbury Road will provide a gateway entrance into the development and a link road will also be built to provide good connectivity for pedestrians, cyclists, car users and public transport with the wider town of Oswestry.

As well as delivering a variety of affordable homes the scheme is also expected to contribute £1.8 million via the Community Infrastructure Levy to fund primary and secondary school provision, play facilities and highways infrastructure.

Pickstock Homes has a long history of constructing new home developments in Oswestry and is proud to have successfully delivered these whilst contributing heavily to the local jobs market.

Nick Scott, Managing Director of Pickstock Homes, said “We are delighted to have secured outline planning permission, and look forward to delivering another high quality, well presented development to the town”.
