Consent Granted for Whitchurch Development

J-Ross Developments Ltd has successfully secured planning consent for a high quality residential scheme comprising of 40 units on the outskirts of Whitchurch in Shropshire.

Following extensive pre application discussions with Shropshire Council on this sensitive site, consent was granted at committee.

During the promotion of the site through the LDF, J-Ross Developments met with local councillors, the forward planning officers and the planning committee at the Town Council, to carry out a detailed public consultation event in Whitchurch Town Hall.

J-Ross Developments went on to undertake a thorough pre-application consultation, making further amendments in response to comments received to ensure the scheme was well designed, in accordance with the character and appearance of the local area providing a high quality public open space, benefitting the local residential area.

Nick Scott CEO of J-Ross Developments commented “Our team’s dedication in resolving all of outstanding concerns to present an attractive new housing development to Shropshire Council has gained a positive result.”

J-Ross Developments’ architectural team worked hard to ensure that the house designs and materials proposed were complimentary to the local area. This was welcomed by the council and noted that they felt that the design of houses were attractive and matched the style of the local vernacular.

The site will comprise three and four bedroom semi-detached and detached properties with private parking. Four properties will be affordable housing built for the Wrekin Housing Trust. The site will be split into two with an attractive landscaped green open space in between.

J-Ross Developments will now hand over the 3.23 acre site for development to associated company Pickstock Homes, who intend to commence construction later this year, bringing houses to market in the spring of next year.
