First Customers Connect to the Simi Valley FiberCity® Network
SiFi Networks‘ Simi Valley FiberCity® has started to connect properties to the FiberCity® network, marking the start of a new digital experience for residents and businesses in the city. The network will provide a superfast, all-fiber connection that ends household’s connectivity woes and helps businesses to thrive.
Neighborhoods will be put live with fiber in a roll out pattern across the city, those that have ordered service in live areas will be contacted to arrange a date and time to be available to have their home or business connected.
“The team is delighted to see the installation stage of this project commence” commented Kirk Hydinger, Community Relations Specialist, Simi Valley FiberCity®. “This is a momentous moment for the city, the start of digital prosperity that will technologically sustain the city for generations and open up many possibilities for everyone, now and in the future” added Kirk.
The Simi Valley FiberCity® project is an Open Access network, a successful model in other regions of Western United States and across Europe. Open Access allows fiber infrastructure to be shared by multiple service providers, whether that be internet or other services, delivering the fastest speeds at the most competitive prices and the best customer service to the consumer. Like all SiFi Networks’ fiber builds in the U.S., the Simi Valley FiberCity® project will be constructed with no cost to taxpayers.
