Construction Commences in Placentia, CA
It is a momentous week for the City of Placentia, CA as SiFi Networks’ construction team arrive to commence construction of Placentia FiberCity®.
SiFi has contracted Lat Long Infrastructure (LLI) LLC, to deploy the network. LLI are specialists in microtrench technology, the method used to deploy all SiFi Networks’ FiberCities®. Microtrenching is minimally invasive, precise, fast and efficient, it also only requires one lane closure on a street reducing the impact on the city and its community.
The network will be built citywide, crews will pass through every street in Placentia enabling connectivity to the fiber network.
“We are really excited to have started construction, to bring a reliable, resilient superfast fiber network to the city of Placentia” commented Goeff Spickler, VP Community Relations SiFi Networks.
“The network will futureproof the city, boost economic development and by constructing through every street it will help close the digital divide in the city. It will also help deliver smart city applications, making it a great city to live, work and play, the community should be very excited”. Added Spickler.
The City of Placentia celebrated the start of construction with a ground-breaking event on June 10th at Placentia Civic Centre. Councillor Yamaguchi expressed the hard work that has gone into the project so far and what the fiber network will bring to the city. Geoff Spickler also addressed the attendees, thanking the city for its enthusiasm and tireless efforts to help bring the project to fruition. Bailey Kline from GigabitNow Placentia, the city’s internet service provider thanked the city and SiFi Networks for partnering with them to provide the city’s fiber internet services.
