Second Antelope Valley City to Become a FiberCity®
Lancaster, CA has followed closely behind its neighbor Palmdale, CA to sign up to become a SiFi Networks’ FiberCity®.
SiFi Networks will privately fund, build and operate its state-of-the-art 100% fiber optic network, and once built the whole city will benefit from high speed fiber internet connectivity.
SiFi Networks will construct the network through every street in the city so that every home and business has the ability to connect to the network to take advantage of services provided from the city’s chosen internet service providers that are yet to be announced.
The network will not only provide better connectivity to residents and businesses and close the digital divide. The infrastructure will also be the backbone of the city giving it the ability to grow economically and introduce Smart City applications which can improve transportation, e-education, e-health and help it to realize and reduce its environmental impact, to name just a few.
“We are delighted to be working with the City of Lancaster to deploy one of the most sophisticated networks in the US, giving the city the ability to meet its long-term objectives” commented Scott Bradshaw, President of SiFi Networks.
“To date, this is the largest California city we have signed up to become a FiberCity® with over 4 million feet of fiber to be installed, and with neighboring City of Palmdale also in line to be a FiberCity®, this will certainly put Antelope Valley on the map” Added Bradshaw.
SiFi Networks are working extensively in California with a fiber network currently being built in Fullerton and many other cities in the pipeline.
