SiFi Networks Gets Approval in Louisville, KY

SiFi Networks has been successful with its proposal to deploy a FTTP (Fiber to the Premise) network throughout Louisville.

The vote of approval by the city permits SiFi Networks to deploy its FOCUS™ technology, building a FiberCity™ allowing for internet connection speeds of upto 1GB (gigabit), up to 50 times faster than the average internet connection.

The network would reach over 100,000 residential properties and over 15,000 business premises in the city.

SiFi Networks is now encouraging residents and businesses in Louisville to register their interest and give feedback on receiving superfast broadband by filling out a short online form on SiFi Networks’ website www.sifinetworks.com/Louisville.

Ben Bawtree‐Jobson, CEO of SiFi Networks commented “We reacted to the Louisville Metro Government’s call for a superfast broadband solution.” Ben added “Recognising the need for a fiberoptic network demonstrates the city’s plans to foster innovation, drive job creation and stimulate economic growth, not just today but for decades to come.”

SiFi Networks is an infrastructure enabler and not an ISP (Internet Service Provider), therefore do not provide retail services, but instead work with ISPs that have an interest in serving the residents and businesses of Louisville with the best service at a competitive rate. Locals can register their interest to receive superfast broadband by visiting www.sifinetworks.com/Louisville.

Scott Bradshaw, President SiFi Networks America commented “Implementing such a network will place Louisville ahead of neighbouring cities in terms of technological capabilities, enhancing their attractiveness to potential new residents and businesses.” Scott added “We are now looking forward to building long term relationships in Louisville; we welcome comments and feedback on our online registration portal.

SiFi Networks’ next steps will be to finalise the design of the network and continue discussions with ISP’s who wish to take advantage of the opportunity to serve the residents and businesses of Louisville.
