Shadow Secretary of State for Energy visits Elements Europe at Grand Designs Live

Greg Clark, the Conservative Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, was an interested visitor when Elements Europe presented their ‘House In A Day’ project at Grand Designs Live in Birmingham last weekend.

Elements Europe partnered with the Shropshire Constructing Excellence Club to build the house in the grounds of Telford Art & Technology and such was the interest that they were invited to take centre stage at the Birmingham exhibition.

The project caught the eye of the Shadow Secretary who said , “This is a very interesting project and I will be following the progress of the company’s plans to provide affordable housing very closely.”

He was joined on the stand by Marian Spain, Leader of the Energy Saving Trust. She is responsible for leading the EST’s policy and research programme.

Other visitors to show interest in the project included Kevin McCloud, the presenter of TV show Grand Designs and George Clark, presenter of Channel 4’s The Home Show and Restoration Man.

Julia Kendall from 60 Minute Makeover and DIY SOS was another interested visitor.
